“I am delighted to describe how Sung Pak has helped me with two injuries. I am a 57-year-old dance teacher who has been dealing for 3 years with a chronic low-back muscle injury. Whether teaching or dancing in class, I would re-injure this muscle every month or so. I did four months of standard Physical Therapy for it last year without improvement. This summer Sung worked on me weekly, prescribing a sequence of stretches that are so interesting that I actually do them twice daily. I have been doing his stretch and strength regimen for about 8 weeks and have not reinjured my back either dancing or in the course of bending and lifting in normal life. I’m also dancing better in general! Sung has also brought relief for a pinched cervical nerve through massage and an injunction against EVER carrying a shoulder bag. I have stopped, and it has made a dramatic difference.”

“Sung’s work combines great physical skill, detailed body knowledge, critical listening, and intuition. I am grateful to have found him!”

Sung Pak has been my personal trainer for about one and a half years. Sung gives 200% of his high energy, and motivating focus to our sessions, every time we work together. Sung truly makes a difference in how I feel about my body, and because of that; how I feel about myself. Every week I look forward to achieving new goals through my workouts with Sung, because he pushes me beyond that of which I believe I am capable. He accomplishes this with his expertise, his great good humor, his non-judgmental attitude, and his true concern for my progress. I am astounded, and so appreciative of what Sung has helped me to accomplish and I look forward tonew challengesin the future with Sung’s help.”

Sung is unique because he comes to training with experience as a massage therapist. Although I am a middle aged professional, I have worked with several exceptionally skilled trainers on and off over the last ten years. Despite the fact that I had several capable trainers in the past, Sung’s expertise as a trainer stands out beyond the others. First of all, Sung has an honest and giving personality which comes through in his training. He starts on time and works with you for full hour. He is funny and engaging, but does not get lost in the personal interaction to let the client talk through the work outwhich is all too common as one works with a trainer over time. Sung stays focused on his goals for the client for each workout session.”

“Also, and perhaps because he has a background in massage therapy, he understands a great deal more than the average trainer about the physiological mechanisms underlying each workout activity. His proficiency in this area allows him to work around the client’s injuries or limitations. He is creative in coming up with alternative ways to achieve the same goal.”

“Another exceptional quality in Sung’s approach to training is his ability to find the right balance between pushing a client to achieve the highest level of fitness given their background and goals, versus being overly cautious. Many of the trainers I had worked with in the past were unable to achieve this balance. For example, though my previous trainers were all well qualified, some insisted on working at levels beyond my ability or really did not help me to stretch my level of fitness. In closing, the truth is I never intended to work with a trainer for longer than 10 sessions ostensibly to “get back into shape.” However, I found working with Sung both fun and invaluable so 10 sessions became two years.”
